Meaning within
Cultural
Inspired by the traditional Japanese candy, kohakutou, the Ento Crystal Candies brings cultures around the world together with a meaningful insect twist.
Form
Each candy shaped like a gem beholds an insect, either a cricket, grasshopper, sago worm or silk worm. Trapping inside a crunchy exterior and gummy interior, a beautiful and nutritious edible insect.
Flavor
Each crystal is designed with ingredients that reflect the insect it carries.
Sago worms from a tropical environment are made with dried mango and coconut pieces.
Crickets and grasshoppers from grasslands include green and red tea leaves.
Silkworms commonly eat mulberry leaves and so these candies include dried mulberry fruit pieces.
Color
Each crystal is designed with colors that reflect the insect and their habitats.
Sago worms from a tropical environment are warmed toned yellows and oranges.
Crickets and grasshoppers from grasslands are green and brown, resembling their own body colors and their habitat.
Silkworms commonly eat mulberry leaves and these crystals are desgined with a purple and red color just like these berries.
